- NEWTON BURNS ZENTMYER died Sunday afternoon at the age of 80 in the Carlisle Hospital. He had been a resident of the Homewood Church Home since 1953.
Born in Antrim Township, near Greencastle, he was the son of the late Daniel and Sara (Burger) Zentmyer. He had been a resident of Waynesboro since 1897, and after learning the cabinet-maker trade, was employed by the Landis Tool Co. for 50 years. He retired in 1953.
He was a member of the Trinity Church of Christ and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Waynesboro.
Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Effa (Stover) Zentmyer; and a sister, Mrs. Mary C. Unger, a resident of the Otterbein Home at Piney Mountain.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home, Rev. H. Clayton Moyer officiating. Interment Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday. The Daily Mail Newspaper - Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland - Monday, February 1, 1960
