From the County Land Ownership Maps. It is likely that John worked the adjacent farmlands in cooperation with other farmers, as his own parcel could not produce enough to sustain the family.

We visited Muhen in 2018 with Sabine Scheichert and all indications are this was the site of the Lottenberg Quarry. There are deep cuts into the existing topography, with multiple stepped benches typical for a quarry operation.

Map showing John Zentmyer's Farm
John Zentmyer's farm, near the corner of Sipes Road and Mitchell Lane in Hartslog Valley, Porter Twp., Huntingdon, Co., Pennsylvania which he purchased in 1866. From Pomeroy's Atlas, published 1873. Interestingly, this map also shows an Iron Ore operation (left side) about five miles from the farm, identified as J. Zentmyer. It was also about five miles from the iron diggings to the Juniata Iron Works, a blast furnace, which operated until the mid 1870s.

Marriage Bond for James Robertson and Ruth Young
This is a Marriage Bond, it is not a marriage record. A Bond was an indication of an intention to marry, but we have found no record for this marriage taking place. Bondsman Joshua J. Young was Ruth's brother. There is online chatter that Ruth's family disinherited her because of her relationship with James, who was 66 years old when he partnered with the then 30-year-old Ruth, if the 1771 birth year is correct.

Marriage Record for a James Robertson and Martha Field Archer, NOT US.
This James was a soldier, 2nd Lieutenant, born in Wake, North Carolina. This line has been confused with ours because of the name James and the Chesterfield County marriage place, but this was clearly not our line. And yet many Ancestry.com trees incorrectly connect this James to us.
