A male descendant of our James Robertson was given a YDNA test. Two of the close YDNA matches, George Thomas Robison and Matthew Lee Robertson, both claim James Robertson d.1748 in Louisa Co. Virginia as their earliest know ancestor.

This tree on Ancestry.com lists this same James Robertson d.1748 in Louisa Co. Virginia. She claims the grandfather of this James was Nicholas Robertson, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, who multiple sources have identified as the brother of our Jeffrey Robertson, also born in Edinburgh.

Other close YDNA matches are Walter Robison, Jessy Roberson, and Ernest Carroll Roberson all of whom claim James Roberson 1737-1828 and Mary Fuqua 1740-1822 as their earliest known ancestors, but nothing further is know about their ancestry.
