1318 | ![]() | Heinrich Radebach and Anna Appolonia Riegel This is not a marriage record pe se, but some kind of family listing. "Johann Henrich Reidenbach, (son of) Peter Reidenbachs von Barweiler eheicher sohn (marriageable son) hatt sich ao. 1720 ... mit Anna Apolonia Johann Jacob Riegels ehelichen tochter (marriageable daughter) von Ottzweyler . . ." the document goes on to list only the German-born offspring, so this document is from Germany. We found it online, but it was not sourced. Surnames were often seen with different spellings, both in and Germany and America.

1323 | ![]() | Henry's Volunteer Enlistment Record in the U.S. Army, 15 Mar 1865 This document was the 'smoking gun' by which we proved, through an arduous process, that the Henry Brutche who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor was the same Henry Brutsche who was the son of Joseph Brutsche and was interred in Lawnview Cemetery. Henry's enlistment required the approval of his father because he was underage. The National Medal of Honor Society closed this case on 5 Nov 2018, but there are 330+ Medal of Honor recipients who are still considered 'lost to history,' which until 2018 had been Henry's status.

1329 | ![]() | History of the Lutheran Church in Virginia and East Tennessee This volume claims that Johannes was among the New River Lutheran settlers in 1749. This would have been difficult, as Johannes was not born until 1763. The Moravian Archives confirmed for us that Johannes was not among the New River settlers in 1749. But this volume correctly notes that he was a founder of Zion Lutheran, as Johannes Mayer, in the following paragraph. Image by Gary Zentmyer
